Student Well-being Program for our special groups—Anak OFWs and the LGBTQIA+ community

Last April 29, 2026, the Counseling and Testing Center successfully conducted a back-to-back Student Well-being Program for our special groups—Anak OFWs and the LGBTQIA+ community at the JPL Hall of Freedom.

The morning session, “Nurturing Emotional Healing, Trust, and Resilience for Anak OFWs,” provided participants with a supportive space to process their emotions, strengthen trust, and develop resilience in facing life’s challenges. Through the Department of Migrant Worker-Migrant Workers Protection Division, it also highlighted important insights on the realities faced by OFW families, including raising awareness on the risks and consequences of illegal recruitment, while reinforcing the government’s commitment to protecting the welfare and rights of Overseas Filipino Workers and their families.

In the afternoon, “Shine Bright: Building Safe Spaces for Every Identity” encouraged students to celebrate diversity, foster inclusivity, and become advocates for safe and affirming spaces for all.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our resource speaker, Ms. Remedios C. Moog,RGC,RPm,CSCOP for sharing her valuable expertise and inspiring our students to heal, grow, and shine with confidence and our guest speaker Atty. Farhan T. Jumdain, OIC-Chief, Migrant Workers Protection Division.

Together, we continue to cultivate a community grounded in empathy, inclusion, and well-being.
